When you want a showy tree without the spread, look no further than the Malus Dreamweaver Crabapple. This spectacular columnar (narrow) tree is well suited to smaller properties where space is at a premium. Landscaping professionals often use the Dreamweaver to accent a pathway, to highlight an entrance to a home, or to provide extra screening.
The Dreamweaver is known for its tight clusters of bright pink blossoms in the spring months, which cover the tree from top to bottom. Glossy purple foliage shines throughout the season. Small purple-red fruit in the fall.
Dreamweaver Flowering Crabapple will grow to be about 12 feet tall at maturity in ideal growing conditions. The average spread is 3 to 3.5 feet. It has a low canopy with a typical clearance of 1 foot from the ground and is suitable for planting on smaller properties and near power lines. It grows at a slow-to-medium rate, and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for 40 years or more.
